[edit] Potential Software
- Nadine is a membership tracking system created by/for office nomads and kept in the open source domain. It was written in Python/Django. It looks easy to implement, and could be extended to work our rfid key system if we are willing to develop a protocol so they can talk to each other.
Alan is working on setting up the system now, including importing the past data into the system.
- Cobot is another membership system Willow is trying out for their 30-day trial.
- ChurchInfo is an open-source membership system. Tracks members (by family, geographical location, and admin-defined "properties"), finances (automatic payments, reminders, tax statements), events (volunteers, visitors to be followed up), and classes (teachers, students). Designed for churches, but "the street finds its own uses for things." - William Gibson

[edit] Hardware Setup
There is an old Gateway PC near the Computer Station, the intention is for this to be a server for membership software at least for testing purposes. It is not reachable from outside the Jigsaw internal network. This is for security while we test things but this could change if we are confident that it can be kept secure. Ask Alan if you need access to this machine and want to try something out.
